Piggery is one of the major contributors to India’s GDP . It has immense potential to ensure nutritional and economic security of the poor farmers. In last decade, piggery has facilitated significantly in bridging the gap between demand and supply of protein From its humble beginnings in backyard setups, pig farming has evolved over the years to become a flourishing industry putting a giant step towards becoming one of the most profitable livestock enterprises of our country. Nonetheless, despite promising scope and commercial importance, there are many challenges that need to be addresses for profitable pig farming. One such challenge is reducing post weaning mortality by alleviating weaning stress. Over the years, many strategies have been tried, but with little success. A better understanding of haemato-metabolic health of weaned piglets may be handy to improve strategies to overcome weaning stress. Dietary intervention is considered to be logical approach to alleviate adverse effects of weaning stress. This book describes the effectiveness of dietary supplementation of Moringa oleifera leaf powder in improving post weaning health of Large White Yorkshire piglets.
