O presente estudo visa analisar uma série de contos populares iranianos e as suas traduções com base na análise estrutural sequencial linear, a morfologia, postulada por Vladimir Propp (1968). O objetivo é investigar as funções dos contos populares ou de fadas e a sua tradução, ou seja, ver se a linguagem destes contos foi preservada ou não e, além disso, ver até que ponto este modelo sintagmático é operacional. O objetivo deste estudo é utilizar o modelo de Propp como um modelo experimental para avaliar a tradução de contos populares iranianos.
