The  story is based on the misfortune of the lead character, Maggie, when she experiences a fatal plane flight from California to Chicago. What happens next is Maggie being conscious of reliving some of her past experiences in her natural, physical life. The storyline is based on biblical references of the promises of God to any believer, both in this present physical life and in the spiritual life that is yet to come. The challenge, as Porter contends, is to believe what God has already promised us. The result, as the scripture states, is unspeakable joy for the believer.
