Ngwenya set in the rural village of GaMoletši.The story follows eleven-year-old Kgosietsile, who lives with her mother, Motseliso, while her father, Morabo, works far from home. Their peaceful life begins to change when Kgosietsile notices that her mother is becoming increasingly weak. What begins as a persistent cough soon develops into a serious illness, leaving the young girl frightened and confused. When Morabo returns home, he discovers that his wife’s condition is far worse than he expected. As the family struggles to face the reality of Motseliso’s illness, difficult questions begin to surface. Why has she kept her suffering hidden for so long, and what secret has she been carrying? As painful truths gradually emerge, Kgosietsile and her family must confront fear, shame, loss, and the emotional wounds that have remained hidden within their lives. Caught between childhood innocence and a reality she does not fully understand, Kgosietsile is forced to witness the impact that illness and secrecy can have on the people she loves.Set against the beauty and hardships of village life, Mom’s Secret Is Being Revealed is a story of family, sacrifice, hidden truths, and the resilience of those who continue to hope even in the darkest moments.
