Das Buch ist dem von den Autoren entwickelten originellen Konzept des Informationsfeldes (IF) eines Moleküls gewidmet, das eine neue Sichtweise auf ein Molekül als ein Objekt eröffnet, das Informationen im umgebenden Raum bildet. In dieser Hinsicht geht das Konzept des IP über die Chemie hinaus und kann auf jedes Objekt (physischer Körper) angewendet werden. Die Autoren sind jedoch professionelle organische Chemiker und haben daher ihr Augenmerk auf grundlegende Aspekte der Molekülstruktur und deren Einfluss auf die Eigenschaften organischer Verbindungen im Rahmen von QSAR/QSPR-Modellen gerichtet, wobei sie die Möglichkeiten des entwickelten FE-Konzepts nutzen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist, dass das vorgeschlagene Konzept keine esoterischen Theorien, übernatürlichen Phänomene und dergleichen verwendet. Unser FE-Konzept basiert ausschließlich auf naturwissenschaftlichen Ideen, die auf dem probabilistischen Ansatz von Shannon zur Messung der Informationsmenge beruhen. Das Hauptziel unseres Buches ist es, die Möglichkeiten des entwickelten FE-Konzepts für die Lösung einer Vielzahl von chemischen Problemen aufzuzeigen. In Anbetracht der Universalität unseres Konzepts hoffen wir, dass Fachleute aus anderen Bereichen unsere Ideen für ihre Probleme, bei denen andere (nicht-molekulare) Objekte betrachtet werden, umsetzen können.
