L’argilla e l’argilla modificata sono state caratterizzate con varie tecniche, tra cui XRD, SEM, EDAX e FTIR. Il CTAB è stato utilizzato come tensioattivo per modificare le proprietà superficiali dell’argilla e migliorarne le capacità di adsorbimento. L’analisi XRD ha rivelato che l’argilla modificata ha una struttura più ordinata rispetto all’argilla grezza, grazie all’incorporazione delle molecole di CTAB sulla sua superficie. Le analisi SEM e EDAX hanno dimostrato che l’argilla modificata ha una morfologia più uniforme con una maggiore area superficiale, attribuita alla modifica del CTAB. L’analisi FTIR ha mostrato la presenza di nuovi gruppi funzionali sulla superficie dell’argilla modificata, indicando il successo dell’incorporazione del CTAB. La modifica dell’argilla con il CTAB ha portato a miglioramenti significativi nelle sue capacità di adsorbimento, rendendola un materiale promettente per varie applicazioni ambientali e industriali. L’uso di queste tecniche analitiche ha fornito preziose indicazioni sui cambiamenti fisici e chimici che avvengono durante il processo di modifica dell’argilla. Ulteriori studi sulle prestazioni dell’argilla modificata in diverse condizioni sono giustificati per valutare appieno il suo potenziale come materiale adsorbente sostenibile ed economico.
