Kilian Fritsch untersucht zwei verschiedene, in Reflexion arbeitende optische Elemente auf der Basis von dielektrischen Beschichtungen. Für einen neuen Spiegel mit Gruppenverzögerungsdispersion weist er die Leistungsfähigkeit für die Anwendung bei niedrigen Intrakavitätsleistungen durch einen Vergleich mit bekannten Spiegeln nach. Für einen neuartigen, auf Nichtlinearität in dielektrischen Schichten basierenden Modelocker wird in verschiedenen Oszillatorkonfigurationen erstmalig Modenkopplung erzielt. Es treten aber auch thermische Effekte auf, welche die Nichtlinearität in der Beschichtung überlagern könnten. Selbsterhaltende Modenkopplung konnte mit diesem Spiegel nicht erreicht werden.
