La presente ricerca si giustifica considerando la necessità di manutenzione di questo tipo di macchine, perché senza una metodologia versatile per la sua sostenibilità, basata sulle moderne tecniche di manutenzione, queste potrebbero compromettere notevolmente il funzionamento. Da un punto di vista teorico, questo studio è giustificato perché ci permetterà di indagare i diversi contorni teorici che spiegano i diversi guasti in questo tipo di macchine e potrebbe essere di grande aiuto come materiale di riferimento al momento di risolvere i guasti in questo tipo di attrezzature o, in mancanza, di ottimizzarli.
