La Relatività Generale (GR) è una pietra miliare della fisica moderna e descrive la gravità come curvatura dello spazio-tempo dovuta alla presenza di massa ed energia. Fornisce una base matematica per la comprensione delle interazioni gravitazionali, compresa la curvatura della luce da parte di oggetti massicci. La cosmologia, una disciplina scientifica distinta, applica la GR per studiare la struttura e l’evoluzione su larga scala dell’universo attraverso la modellazione matematica. Negli ultimi anni, le teorie a più alta dimensione, come la teoria di Kaluza-Klein (KK), hanno suscitato un notevole interesse in cosmologia e astrofisica. Introdotta da Theodor Kaluza e Oskar Klein, questa teoria estende la GR in un quadro a cinque dimensioni, offrendo potenziali spunti per unificare la gravità con altre forze fondamentali. Essa ipotizza che il nostro universo quadridimensionale possa essere emerso da una fase più elevata, in cui le dimensioni spaziali aggiuntive si sono compattate e sono diventate inosservabili nel corso del tempo.
