Designed as a hands-on simulation, Mock Congress Workbook: Simulating the House of Representatives brings to life the roles and responsibilities of congress members and those with whom they work. Its in-class exercises model the legislative branch of the government and address leadership positions and responsibilities, the committee system, floor debate, and interactions with witnesses and lobbyists. This latest version of the workbook has been updated to reflect the realities of the current 115th Congress. It features newly introduced bills that cover hot button issues such as sanctuary cities, mandatory minimum sentencing standards, school vouchers, public infrastructure spending, and the fight for a $15 minimum wage. As an in-class series of exercises, the Mock Congress Workbook offers students a realistic introduction to the people, procedures, bills, and issues that are part of the daily fabric of the House of Representatives. This up-to-date edition is an ideal instructional tool for introductory courses in American politics and public policy.Katie Zuber, who earned her Ph.D. in political science at the University of Albany, is a visiting professor in the Political Science Department at Skidmore College. But Steffens' dogged quest for truth and justice set...
