70 Jahre nach dem Abschluss des Pariser Vertrages, welcher die Grundlage der Südtiroler Autonomie bildet, kann objektiv festgesellt werden, dass der Südtiroler Minderheitenschutz funktioniert hat. Dies ist keine Selbstverständlichkeit. Insgesamt stellt der Umgang mit Minderheiten ein stetig spannendes Konfliktfeld dar, das nicht selten auch zu gewaltsamen Ausschreitungen und Terrorismus führt. Südtirol hat in dieser Hinsicht im vergangenen Jahrhundert eine Entwicklung gemacht, der aufgrund der positiven Lösung eines Minderheitenproblems europa- und weltweit häufig Modellcharakter zugeschrieben wird. Die vorgelegte Arbeit dokumentiert diese vor allem hinsichtlich der Kernjahre des teils schwierigen Autonomieweges von der „Paketschlacht' 1969 bis zur Streitbeilegung im Jahre 1992 mit detaillierter Betrachtung der politischen Ereignisse. Zudem werden Thesen dazu formuliert, was für den Werdegang notwendig war. Ebenfalls enthalten sind eine Bilddokumentation zur SVP-Landesversammlung 1992 und eine Chronologie der Paket-Durchführung sowie die Auflistung der Zuständigkeiten des Landes laut dem neuen Autonomiestatut.
