Das Buch konzentrierte sich auf den Erfolg Nigerias im Rahmen des Projekts „Millennium-Entwicklungsziele'. Die MDGs umfassen 8 Ziele, 18 Unterziele und 48 Indikatoren, die für die globale Schaffung von Wohlstand sowie die Verringerung extremer Armut von größter Bedeutung sind. Das Ergebnis der oben genannten Philosophie fordert die internationale Gemeinschaft auf, einen operativen Rahmen für die Erreichung der Ziele zu entwickeln. Auf nationaler Ebene wurde in Nigeria unter anderem die Nationale Strategie zur wirtschaftlichen Stärkung und Entwicklung (NEEDS) eingeführt. Um die Verwirklichung ähnlicher Ziele im Bundesstaat Oyo sicherzustellen, wurde auf staatlicher Ebene ebenfalls eine Strategie zur wirtschaftlichen Stärkung und Entwicklung (SEEDS) eingeführt. Die Einführung dieses Programms erfolgte, um einen geeigneten Rahmen für die Verfolgung der Erfolge der Millenniums-Entwicklungsziele zu schaffen, die für alle Interessengruppen und Entwicklungspartner weltweit zu einem wichtigen Thema geworden sind.
