The aim of this paper is to analyse the relationship of identity built between communist militants and the Communist Party of Brazil (PCB) in the memories of José Pureza da Silva, Lyndolpho Silva and Bráulio Rodrigues da Silva when they acted as mediators in the land conflicts that began to materialise in the Baixada Fluminense region in the late 1940s to early 1960s.
