Zusammen mit der Präsenz von Wissensbeständen aus unterschiedlichen Deutungshorizonten verlangt dies von Menschen, mit Mehrdeutigem und Ambiguitäten des Kulturellen, Sprachlichen, Religiösen und Weltanschaulichen zu leben. Die Transformationsprozesse in gesellschaftlichen und individuell erfahrungs- und handlungsorientierten Zusammenhängen stehen im Fokus. Transkulturalität wird dabei als ein heuristisches Instrument verstanden, um den Prozesscharakter von Kulturen und die Dynamik des fortwährenden Aushandelns von Inhalten und Dingen sowie deren Bedeutungen in sozialen Prozessen zu erfassen. Der Blick auf den Alltag der Menschen mit Migrationserfahrung zeigt die variationsreichen Verbindungen von individuellen und gruppenspezifischen Bedürfnissen, Referenzen zum Herkunftsland und Orientierungen am neuen gesellschaftlichen Umfeld.
