L’efficienza degli impianti solari, sia fotovoltaici (PV) che a concentrazione (CSP), è influenzata in modo significativo dalle temperature di esercizio. Le temperature elevate riducono le prestazioni dei moduli fotovoltaici e limitano l’efficienza di conversione dell’energia nei sistemi CSP, ponendo una sfida alla produzione ottimale di energia. Per far fronte a questo problema, si stanno sviluppando strategie di raffreddamento innovative e i sistemi di raffreddamento a nebbia stanno emergendo come una soluzione promettente. Il raffreddamento a nebbia funziona secondo il principio del raffreddamento evaporativo, in cui gocce d’acqua sottili vengono spruzzate sopra o vicino ai pannelli solari o ai componenti CSP. Il calore assorbito durante l’evaporazione dell’acqua abbassa la temperatura superficiale, attenuando le perdite di efficienza e lo stress termico. Questa tecnica aumenta la resa energetica degli impianti fotovoltaici mantenendo le temperature ottimali dei moduli, mentre negli impianti CSP migliora l’efficienza degli scambiatori di calore e delle turbine. L’implementazione di sistemi di raffreddamento a nebbia riduce inoltre la dipendenza dai metodi di raffreddamento tradizionali, offrendo un’alternativa più sostenibile ed efficiente dal punto di vista energetico.
