Il concetto di nanotecnologia ha avuto inizio circa mezzo secolo fa e ha già dimostrato il proprio potenziale in numerosi settori di grande rilevanza quali le nanocellule solari, l’elettronica, l’ottica, i nanocompositi, i nanosensori, la superconduttività, l’ingegneria tissutale, la somministrazione di farmaci, il targeting magnetico, il trattamento ipertermico del cancro, gli agenti antibatterici, la bioimmaginistica e così via. Lo scopo di questo libro è quello di affrontare argomenti chiave relativi alla sintesi, alla caratterizzazione, allo studio delle proprietà e alle applicazioni delle nanostrutture, al fine di soddisfare le esigenze dei ricercatori internazionali che integrano tutti gli aspetti della ricerca scientifica e tecnologica. Nel presente volume vengono illustrati i metodi di deposizione chimica dei film sottili con i relativi meccanismi, mentre contemporaneamente vengono spiegati il comportamento dei parametri di base dei sensori a film sottile e le tecniche di caratterizzazione dei film sottili.
