The concept of this monograph is based on the recognition that language is a cognitive system, and cognitive, in turn, is a semiotic system. We are convinced that this fact allows us to integrate cognitive and semiotic research practices not only in the study of the essence of metaphorical nature, but also in the analysis of linguistic material of any complexity. The monograph is addressed to experts in metaphor theory, language philosophy, semiotics and cognitive science.
