The synthesis and characterization of metal oxide Nanocatalyst represent fundamental aspects of contemporary nanomaterial research, particularly in addressing environmental remediation challenges. This chapter delineates the comprehensive methodological framework employed for synthesizing zinc oxide (ZnO) and cadmium oxide (CdO) Nanocatalyst, both in their pristine and lemon-capped forms, utilizing ultrasound-assisted sonochemical synthesis. MONP-based photocatalysts degraded pollutants via hydroxyl radical and superoxide generation under UV/visible irradiation. Metal oxide nanoparticles have emerged as versatile functional materials with applications spanning photocatalysis, optoelectronics, sensing, and biomedical technologies. Comprehensive characterization TGA, XRD, FTIR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, SEM, EDAX, HR-TEM reveals systematic structure-property relationships governing optical bandgap, charge separation efficiency, and catalytic activity. Optimal photocatalytic performance depends on both catalyst composition and substrate characteristics, with ZnO-CdO achieving excellent degradation efficiency for cationic dyes within practical treatment timeframes under solar simulation.
