One of the most used arguments against the reality of time travel has been this: If there was such a thing as time travel, then someone at sometime would have said something. Obviously, the argument is correct in its conclusion. However, it often stands untested. It should be stated this way: since time travel is another reality, some have seen the evidence of that reality. Where are we to look in order to find that evidence? Since the Bible asserts that Jesus is Lord of both the living and the dead and that He is the beginning and the end, I have no difficulty believing that time travel that is divinely engendered and empowered is real. That type of time travel may have been alluded to in a number of the Biblical accounts. Time was said to have stood still until the Israelites could win a decisive victory. Time is under the control of the Lord Jesus. To literally travel back and forth in time will never be the domain of mankind. It is the Lord’s domain. However, I believe that the Lord has and may continue to do things within that domain that achieve His ultimate purpose of mankind’s redemption and restoration.Dr. Bob James has been a Baptist minister for forty-four years. He also spent twenty years as a middle school teacher and five years as an adjunct professor of US history at Lone Star College Fairbanks Center.
