Trying to keep the family together' or 'Staying for the kids' is no reason to remain in an unhealthy relationship. I am a product of abuse, mental illness, selfishness, disloyalty, and the lack of accountability. I suffered needlessly and my mental illness went undetected until it was too late. My mother was so in love with my father that she couldn’t see past his excuses, abuse, and infidelity. She, like a lot of women, put up with it in-order to keep a piece of a man. My father did what he was allowed to do because she accepted his behavior seemingly without consequence.Until I decided to become the consequence.This is my story.
