El objetivo general de la presente investigación es: Evaluar las Medidas de Bioseguridad que maneja el profesional de salud en el área de emergencia de adultos del Hospital 'Dr. José María Carabaño Tosta', la investigación es de tipo descriptivo, la población fue de cien (100) profesionales de salud que laboran en el área de emergencia de adultos del Hospital 'Dr José María Carabaño Tosta'. Para recolectar la información en este trabajo de investigación se utilizó como técnicas de recolección de datos la encuesta y la observación directa. Los resultados para esta investigación arrojaron lo siguiente: con respecto a la aplicación de las medidas de bioseguridad se observó que el 64% aplican las medidas, y el 36 no aplican, evidencia que lo aplican de manera regular.Con respecto al Nivel de Conocimiento sobre las medidas del nivel de conocimiento sobre bioseguridad del personal de salud es, en la mayoría de los casos de medio (56 %), bajo (12 %), y alto un 32%, lo que es alarmante, ya que la población comprendida en el estudio labora en el área de emergencia del Hospital IVSS "Dr. José María Carabaño Tosta'.En lo que se refiere a los Factores de Riesgos a los cuales están expuestos los Profesionales de Salud en área de Emergencia de Adulto del Hospital Dr. "José María Carabaño Tosta son en un 76% (38) están presentes y 24% (12) están ausentes. Descriptores: Medidas de Bioseguridad, Personal de Salud, Nivel de conocimientos.
