Digital media has become an integral part of children’s daily lives, shaping how they access information, interact with their surroundings, and develop lifestyle behaviours. From television and smartphones to social media, online games, and digital advertising, media exposure increasingly influences children’s food preferences, eating habits, and overall well-being. This book presents an evidence-based examination of the influence of media engagement habits on the food consumption patterns and nutritional status of upper primary school children. Drawing on a cross-sectional study conducted among school children and their mothers in Vadodara City, Gujarat, India, the study explores how media accessibility, media engagement, media literacy, parental education, family income, pocket money, and extracurricular participation collectively shape children’s dietary behaviours and nutritional outcomes.
