Cardiac monitoring based on mechanical waves is a key tool in the diagnosis and care of patients, allowing accurate information to be obtained on parameters such as cardiac output and blood pressure. These technologies, widely used in nursing, facilitate the interpretation of cardiac activity in real time, promoting safe and efficient care in critical environments. This paper studies the importance of mechanical waves in cardiac monitoring and their impact on clinical diagnosis through a planned literature review. The physical principles underlying these technologies and the essential role of the nurse in the management of monitoring devices are highlighted. The methodology employed was the exploratory-descriptive approach, which is the collection of high quality and reliable indexed scientific literature.
