Das regelmäßige 17-Eck kann man konstruieren - mit Gruppentheorie. In der Kryptographie geht es nicht ohne und in der Kombinatorik nützt sie ebenfalls. Im vorliegenden Buch sind Gruppen Ausgangspunkt und roter Faden für eine abwechslungsreiche Tour durch Themen aus Algebra, Diskreter Mathematik, Geometrie, Zahlentheorie und Weiterem. Auf dem Weg wird man Zusammenhänge sehen und manchen Aha-Effekt erleben. Alle Beiträge sind zuerst im Internet auf „Matroids Matheplanet' erschienen.
