Les hydrocarbures sont considérés comme source principale pour les matériaux plastiques, mais la source est exposée à l’épuisement. Les matériaux plastiques sont connus pour leur haute résistance aux agents atmosphériques, leurs facilités d’utilisation et leurs coûts modérés. Avec toutes ces qualités, il existe quelques inconvénients comme leur déchet. Pour cela, ce mémoire est orienté vers l’utilisation d’un polymère naturel comme la cellulose. La cellulose extraite du bois, du coton, etc... La réaction d’estérification permet la modification de la structure de la cellulose qui devient apolaire. La cellulose a utilisé avec polyuréthane diacrylate à différents pourcentages pour obtenir des matériaux composites qui se dégradent à la nature (sol, rayons solaire etc...), ce polymère a montré une bonne résistance à la vapeur d’eaux ainsi qu’aux solvants non polaire, mais pour les solvants à moyenne polarité la résistance est très faible. On a constaté que les principaux facteurs qui influent sur la résistance de ces matériaux à l’humidité sont la longueur de la chaîne carbonique, l’encombrement stérique qui est causé par le type d’ester et le degré de substitution.
