Marissa is born in the 21st century to parents involved in show business. Their act was known as 'the mysterious disappearing act'. Ironically, little baby Marissa disappears under really mysterious circumstances, only to reappear in the 13th century where she continues her life with her medieval parents without any knowledge of her involuntary time traveling.She has a very good friend in The Grey - a form of energy that helps her get her heart’s desire, be it in finding an invisible friend, or help in saving her betrothed from her greedy aunt’s machinations. During a fight for survival, Marissa takes her betrothed and his friends to Magic City through The Grey, to the 21st century, thus closing the circle that started at her birth.
