From the heart of Martha Marica (Coleman) Stenson: The poems I compose are not to bring me fortune and fame They are written for the sole purpose of bringing glory to my Savior’s Holy Righteous name. When thoughts and feelings for GOD ALMIGHTY need to be expressed, inspirational poems by Marica say them best. For the composition of my poems no credit to me is owed. I give thanks to GOD for the talent to me HE bestowed. For me expressions of inspiration through poetry is no art. My poems are unspoken words of love GOD placed in my heart. My love for GOD is what inspires me to write. It is not due to my intellectual insight. Without ALMIGHTY GOD it would be impossible to compose them. Every word I write is due to being blessed by HIM. My love for JEHOVAH GOD just continues to grow, causing inspirational expressions from my pen to flow. To bring glory to GOD I continue to strive. From the depths of my heart my poems derive. For my to compose poetry GOD is the engender. All of my allegianc to JEHOVAH GOD ALMIGHTY I surrender. I pray that this book of inspirationals,(my GOD given gift) will bring to the sick, afflicted and downhearted a spiritual lift.

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

  • The Truth about A

In his interpretation of Antigone, Seamus Heaney says, ‘Nobody can be sure they are always right.’ Maureen O’Shaughnessy’s The Truth about A further attends to this idea through various readings of the myth as portrayed by Sophocles, Brecht, Ted Hughes, Anne Carson and, most particularly, Euripides.
