In Mapuche Spirituality, Prabhuji presents a worldview that reveals the sacred interconnection between people, mountains, rivers, animals, and ancestors, united in a single web of shared meaning. Drawing on his direct experiences in Mapuche territory and a long period of attentive listening to its people, he conveys the essence of what he has learned: the sacred relationship with the land, the role of the machi (spiritual healer), the rituals, the dreams, the medicinal plants, and the living bond with the ancestors. In a world that is undergoing ecological and cultural crises, Mapuche spirituality emerges as a deeply relevant path-one capable of reimagining humanity’s relationship with nature, community, and that which it recognizes as sacred. This book is born from my admiration and respect for the traditions, language, and ways of life of the Mapuche people. Since my youth in Chile, I have been captivated by the richness of their cultural heritage and the depth of their spirituality. In 1974, at the age of sixteen, I traveled to the Araucanía region to understand the life and values that have sustained this ancestral community. What began as a personal exploration soon became a transformative experience, an immersion that profoundly affected my worldview and left an indelible mark on my life. I am grateful to the extraordinary people of Loncoche, Curacautín, and Lumaco, who generously shared their knowledge and guided me on an invaluable journey through Mapuche wisdom.
