Die durch Lasiodiplodia theobromae verursachte Stängelfäule ist eine wichtige Nacherntekrankheit bei Mangofrüchten der Sorte Kesar, einem Stolz der Region Saurashtra in Gujarat. Drei Fungizide wurden vor und nach der Inokulation eingesetzt, um die Stängelendfäule bei Mangofrüchten zu unterdrücken. Carbendazim (0,05%) erwies sich als am wirksamsten. Zwei Pilz-(Trichoderma harzianum - JAU-Isolat, Aspergillus parasiticus) und zwei Bakterienisolate(Bacillus sp. (BS1) und Bacillus sp. (BF1)) wurden als Behandlungen vor und nach der Inokulation getestet, und alle erwiesen sich als sehr wirksam zur Verringerung der Stielendfäule.Die vier Bioagentien, die erfolgreich als Vor- und Nachimpfung zusammen mit T. harzianum (JAU-Isolat) getestet wurden, wurden schließlich als Anwendung vor der Ernte zur Bekämpfung von Krankheiten nach der Ernte getestet. Zum Nutzen des Verbrauchers sollten Mangobaumbesitzer 15 Tage vor der Ernte eine einmalige Spritzung mit Trichoderma harzianum (JAU-Isolat, 107 /cfu) oder Carbendazim (0,05%) durchführen, um den Fruchtverfall während der Reifung zu minimieren.
