Este livro é um relato conciso da vida de Malcolm X e da sua evolução intelectual, social e global, especialmente após o seu regresso de Meca. Com estas qualidades e uma personalidade carismática e cativante, tornou-se especial para o Ministro Elijah Muhammad e tornou-se também um ícone para os jovens afro-americanos. A sua erudição era notável, e as suas estratégias pan-africanas eram práticas, funcionais e verdadeiramente conectantes. As pessoas a quem ele dedicava amor e preocupação eram as que se dizia terem-no assassinado. Malcolm X era um académico!
