Maggie Roberts began life growing up in a 'normal' 1950's household with her parents and two brothers. Being left in the woods by her brother because she was to young to count during a game of hide and seek was one of her earliest memories. Her mother yelling at the top of her lungs ' John Robert Michaels go get your sister out of the woods this instant' is another. That same brother often used Maggie as his version of a human speed bump.Navigating through adolescence and into adulthood brings both frustration and laughter as cars and boys become Maggie’s biggest cause for confusion. Unsecured car top carriers and boys that eat paste are some of the things that she just can’t quite understand. As middle age creeps up on her Maggie realizes that your body just doesn’t behave the same as it did when you were in your twenties. Before she purchased her first set of reading glasses she mistakenly wore air freshener an entire weekend on her neck because she could no longer read the small print on the bottle and thought she was wearing perfume.Being diagnosed with cancer Maggie struggles. She looses her hair and eye brows but feels a small victory when she’s finally able to apply false eyelashes without looking like she has a whisk broom stuck to her eye lid.
