Niniejsza praca analizuje wyniki badań jakościowych, które mogą przyczynić się do rozwoju dyskursu akademickiego i badań dotyczących przywództwa, mądrości oraz teorii konstruktywnego rozwoju. W niniejszym badaniu przeanalizowano liderów wykonawczych, którzy zostali ocenieni na konwencjonalnym i postkonwencjonalnym etapie rozwoju dorosłych, oraz sposób, w jaki doświadczają oni mądrości. Badanie to ma istotne znaczenie, ponieważ wypełnia lukę w literaturze dotyczącej mądrości i teorii konstruktywnego rozwoju. W przeciwieństwie do badań, które definiują i operacjonalizują mądrość jako integrację poznawczych, afektywnych i refleksyjnych obszarów mądrości, wyniki wskazują, że uczestnicy doświadczają mądrości w jednym lub kilku obszarach mądrości. Uczestnicy zostali ocenieni pod kątem ich zdolności do nadawania znaczenia w celu określenia ich etapu rozwoju za pomocą narzędzia SCTi-Map.
