Mabdelore Winter was abandoned as an infant. She was found in a village church and adopted by a farmer and his wife. It was only when she was awarded a scholarship by the Guild of Sorcerers that her magical gifts were recognised. The Guild became her new home and led to the extraordinary discovery of her true origins.
