Les services bancaires mobiles peuvent être considérés comme la banque dans votre poche. Alors que les citadins profitent de la plupart de ses avantages, le secteur rural doit encore faire face à une proposition distincte pour témoigner de sa présence en plein essor et récolter les bénéfices qui en découlent. D’une certaine manière, l’Inde rurale n’est pas encore prête à prendre conscience des aspects techniques qui y sont associés, et la transaction électronique elle-même n’est d’ailleurs pas compréhensible dans leur esprit. Une enquête a été menée auprès d’un échantillon de 720 personnes sur 1200 habitants ruraux de différentes catégories démographiques du district de Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, Inde, au moyen d’un questionnaire explicite et structuré, afin de recueillir leurs opinions. Alors que le concept de banque mobile est fortement découragé dans l’Inde rurale, l’étude révèle que le district rural de Srikakulam est à son nadir. Ce document de recherche permet non seulement aux banques de modifier dans une large mesure leur système existant pour l’adapter au comportement des clients ruraux, de les motiver à adopter les services bancaires mobiles et d’accroître ainsi leur clientèle, mais aussi au gouvernement d’initier des mesures innovantes et faciles à mettre en œuvre pour améliorer la situation des zones rurales sur tous les fronts.
