This vintage book contains George Santayana’s 1899 play, 'Lucifer: A Theological Tragedy'. It is a blank verse drama within which Santayana seems to align himself with the other Harvard poets whose work was dominated by myth. George Santayana (1863 - 1952) was an influential philosopher, essayist, poet, and novelist. He was brought up in the United States and called himself an American, although he always made sure that he had a valid Spanish passport. This antiquarian book was first published in 1806, and is being republished now in an affordable, modern edition. It comes complete with a specially commissioned new biography of the author.
