Two estranged childhood best friends reunite over the course of a disastrous family holiday and begin pushing the boundaries of friendship in new and steamy directions. Falling is what Dex does best, off of skateboards and in love. They enjoy the rush of adrenaline and the spine-tingling satisfaction it creates. They’re not so good at staying in it.Since the last time they saw any of their family, Dex has changed their name, their hair, their pronouns, and their postcode (several times over). Having spent the last two years avidly avoiding any reminders of their home and the life they left there, they are nervous to return. With so much different, they worry that there might not be a place for them in Portsmouth, and that they won’t be able to make it up to the people they hurt. Dean has been slowly plotting the downfall of her estranged childhood best friend for two years, ever since she helped them flee their disastrous would-be wedding. She is used to being the reliable one in the family, bringing in a steady income and supporting their families in Dex’s absence. The last thing she expected was for them to show up for the joint holiday their families are planning. Now, she is forced to spend her sun-soaked fortnight in close proximity to Dex Carpenter-Brown and their triumphant return. As everyone falls at their feet and forgives them for running off, she must play nice to avoid ruining everyone’s trip. But as she learns their side of things and the pair make moves to repair their friendship, things take an unexpectedly intimate twist.
