Louis D. Wilson, Mexican War Martyr is a biographical account of the life and death of Louis D. Wilson, a soldier who fought in the Mexican-American War and was killed in action. The book explores his upbringing, his military service, and the circumstances surrounding his death. In addition to the story of Louis D. Wilson, the book also includes two other biographical accounts. The first is about Thomas H. Hall, a lawyer and politician who was involved in the Reconstruction era of the United States. The second is about Andrew Johnson, the 17th President of the United States, and provides a more nuanced and realistic portrayal of his character than is often presented in history books. Finally, the book includes a section called Our Town Common, which is a collection of essays and observations about life in small-town America. Written by Gaston Lichtenstein, these essays provide a window into the daily lives and concerns of people living in rural communities during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Overall, Louis D. Wilson, Mexican War Martyr is a rich and varied collection of historical accounts that offer insight into different aspects of American life and history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
