Anche se l’ospedale è considerato un’azienda in tutto il mondo, ciò che interessa al professionista della psicologia è l’oggetto. E in questo caso, l’oggetto è il soggetto e la sua soggettività, il suo dolore, la sua sofferenza, la sua finitudine, il suo processo di terminazione o di guarigione, le sue paure e le sue ansie; il che, in scala, finisce per incidere sia sull’aspetto amministrativo di un ospedale - i suoi costi - sia sul personale, perché i pazienti privi di cure psicologiche tendono a chiedere di più a medici, tecnici, infermieri, nutrizionisti, fisioterapisti, ecc. Il progetto mira anche a rompere il paradigma della difficoltà di inserire gli psicologi nell’ambiente ospedaliero, a imporre la rispettabilità delle conoscenze nella catena gerarchica obsoleta, a esaminare i rapporti quotidiani con pazienti e accompagnatori fragili, a trattare la natura dinamica della psicologia, oltre a molte altre questioni ugualmente pertinenti al tema. L’obiettivo principale di questo progetto è quello di chiarire e dimostrare il ruolo urgente e necessario degli psicologi nell’ambiente ospedaliero, nonché di condividere le problematiche vissute all’interno di un ospedale di riferimento per il trattamento del cancro negli adulti, dove le richieste emergono ininterrottamente.
