Living the Word is a devotional commentary and a practical guide to finding happiness through obedience to God’s Word regardless of life’s circumstances. It walks with the psalmist verse by verse through each of the 22 stanzas of Psalm 119 as he struggles to live for God in a hostile world. It sits with him in the dust of despair, joins him in the school of affliction and sings with him as he celebrates the wonders of God’s Word. The psalmist was persecuted and oppressed by wicked men. He was often discouraged and sometimes depressed, yet he always found joy and comfort in God’s perfect and eternal Word.Living the Word captures the psalmist’s love for God’s Word and challenges the reader to make it his own. It journeys with him across the mountains and valleys of his earthly pilgrimage, and distills his wisdom into practical applications for daily living.Kelsey Garman has studied and taught the Bible for nearly 60 years. He has been a pastor; an advertising and public relations executive; a newspaper reporter and columnist; a freelance magazine and newspaper writer with hundreds of articles to his credit, and a Christian financial advisor. He is the founder of the Fellowship of Christian Investors, and served as its president for 21 years. We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...
