Hierbei werden neben klassischen Themen zur Modellierung, Polyedertheorie und zum Simplexalgorithmus auch komplexitätstheoretische Aspekte sowohl des Simplexalgorithmus wie auch der polynomialen Verfahren zur Linearen Optimierung intensiv behandelt.Letztere haben ihren Ursprung zwar in der nicht-linearen Optimierung und galten bei Ihrer Entdeckung vor 40 Jahren zunächst als eher von theoretischem Wert. Heutzutage kommt aber keine kommerzielle Software zur Linearen Optimierung an diesen Verfahren vorbei.Das Buch ist aus einem Studienbrief der FernUniversität in Hagen hervorgegangen und deswegen insbesondere auch für das Selbststudium geeignet.
