À la fin des années 1960, les universités soutenues par l’avis n° 977/65 du Conseil fédéral de l’éducation (CFE) - qui sanctionne la création des études supérieures au Brésil - ont entamé le processus d’intégration des programmes d’études supérieures dans leurs programmes d’études. L’Université pontificale catholique de São Paulo (PUC-SP) figurait parmi ces institutions. Le programme de troisième cycle en éducation : psychologie et éducation (PED) a vu le jour en 1969, étant le premier à se concentrer sur la relation entre la psychologie et l’éducation. L’histoire du programme révèle son importance pour la communauté scientifique par le nombre significatif de publications scientifiques produites par le corps enseignant et les étudiants du programme. Et, compte tenu de la pertinence de ce programme pour le contexte éducatif national, la présente recherche est née comme une proposition visant à récupérer et à enregistrer son histoire afin de mieux comprendre une partie de sa contribution à l’orientation que prend l’éducation dans le pays.
