L’analyse de la modernité doit englober de manière uniforme l’étude du siècle des Lumières, période durant laquelle prévalait la pensée analytique et paradigmatique. Époque à laquelle vécurent António Nunes Ribeiro Sanches et le marquis de Condorcet. Tous deux ont approuvé et contribué à l’outil scientifique qui fut connu sous le nom de République des Lettres. La transposition des pensées et des arguments qui débordaient des lettres adressées à divers collaborateurs, dans le cas de Sanches, en plus des divers préceptes inspirés des lettres de Condorcet, a mis en lumière des contributions inestimables au concept et à l’application de l’instruction publique. L’historiographie récente sur les Lumières a affirmé le caractère pluriel et les multiples processus de composition des idées associées aux Lumières dans différentes parties de l’Europe simultanément, selon des modes et en fonction des particularités régionales. Dans ce contexte, deux personnages ont été mis en avant : le Portugais Antônio Nunes Ribeiro Sanches et le Français marquis de Condorcet. Nous avons cherché les similitudes et les divergences en ce qui concerne la question de l’éducation en tant que primauté des Lumières.
