Author Billie Annette pushes the boundaries of language and thought with her poetry. She grew up on an American Indian reservation and it shaped her experience and interpretation of life off of the reservation. Through her poetry, she shares glimpses of life through a unique lens. Billie is one of a handful of American Indian poets who is able to cross the bridge between cultures as she relays universal issues like illness, poverty, racism, family, love, and loss. Her provoking use of language draws you into the immediacy of her experience. About the Author Billie Annette lives in northern Minnesota with her husband, James, and their two dogs, Capone and Fella. She enjoys doting on her daughter, son-in-law, and six grandchildren. Her second collection of poetry is currently in progress.
