《聊斋志异》是清代大文学家蒲松龄的短篇小说集，全书共491篇，内容多是谈狐仙鬼妖，反映了十七世纪中国的社会风貌，她因其深刻的思想性和高超的艺术性而在世界文学的宝库中占有一席之地。1987年至1991年期间，大文学家汪曾祺对《聊斋志异》13篇小说进行了改写，构成“聊斋新义”系列小说，分别是：《《蛐蛐《快捕张三》《同梦》《明白官》《老虎吃错人》《人变老虎》《瑞云》《黄英》《陆判》《石清墟》《双灯》《画壁》和《牛飞》，全收录在《汪曾祺全集 小说二》里。遗憾的是因为汪曾祺的英年早逝，仅13 篇的“聊斋新义”无法单独汇集成书问世。纪洞天先生对《聊斋志异》87篇小说进行了改写。连同汪曾祺留下的13 篇汇成了《聊斋新义百篇》，用现代意识来改写中国古代小说。 3
