Heutzutage werden in der Gesellschaft Fragen der Identität und der sexuellen Orientierung diskutiert, was zu unterschiedlichen Formen des Verständnisses und der sozialen Reaktion führt. Eine davon ist Gewalt, mit der viele Lesben, Schwule, Bisexuelle, Transsexuelle, Transgender und Transvestiten (LGBT) täglich konfrontiert sind. Ziel dieser Studie war es, das soziodemografische Profil einer Gruppe von LGBT-Personen zu umreißen, die Arten von Gewalt, denen sie ausgesetzt sind, zu ermitteln und ihre kognitiven und verhaltensmäßigen Reaktionen auf die erlebte Gewalt zu bestimmen.
