Questo studio ha lo scopo di scoprire l’effetto e l’efficienza della lettura orale ripetuta (RR) sulla fluidità della lettura orale nell’ambiente EFL a Taiwan. Stimolando la velocità e l’automaticità della lettura orale, la RR si è dimostrata un metodo efficace per migliorare sia la lettura orale che la fluidità del parlato. I risultati hanno indicato che c’è stato un miglioramento significativo nella velocità di lettura orale prima e dopo l’intervento, indipendentemente dai seguenti fattori: (a) sesso, (b) lingua madre, (c) tempo di utilizzo/apprendimento dell’inglese al di fuori dell’orario di formazione, (d) prestazioni pre-test e (e) miglioramento ottenuto durante la pratica. Le risposte ai questionari post-test hanno inoltre indicato un’elevata accettabilità della RR tra i gruppi di soggetti. Di conseguenza, l’adozione della RR per lo sviluppo dell’automaticità e l’allenamento della velocità nell’insegnamento della fluidità orale è stata raccomandata per la futura didattica a Taiwan.
