5 out of 5 starsSuperb ReadReviewed in the United KingdomIn Pat McQueen’s debut novel a series of events unfold into a ripple of crime, murder and suspense. Written in the times of the 70s, I could almost imagine myself there with the characters on the pages, like being transported back in time.I particularly enjoyed the way the author introduced the characters and the build up of the crescendo of whodunnit? This is not a blood and gore novel, but a mystery. A superb read which I would definitely recommend. Look forward to reading the next novel or sequel.4 out of 5 starsNicely paced retro crime thrillerReviewed in the United KingdomNicely drawn characters, recreates the atmosphere of the very late 60’s/early 70’s well, moves along at a good pace plus some nice twists and turns. Look forward to his next book.5 out of 5 starsSuperb readReviewed in the United KingdomI was really excited to read Pat McQueen’s debut novel and it didn’t disappoint, a complex whodunnit that is multi layered and keeps you guessing. A real page turner. I hope I don’t have to wait too long for a sequel or another novel. Congratulations to the author on a fantastic debut novel.5 out of 5 starsnew bookReviewed in the United KingdomGreat read 3

Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
