We have all faced a difficult situation in our lives at some point in time. It could be something that we had to face ourselves or something we had to face with a loved one or friend.   In July 2022, I was faced with the news I had Pancreatic cancer. All I knew was this was not good news, and I had no prior knowledge or experience in how to navigate this turn in the road. My life was about to change, but how? Would I have the courage to stand firm and face a life-threatening situation? In my case, the challenge was going to be fighting cancer. Maybe in your life, it is something totally different.   I am writing this book for those facing one of those difficult situations in their lives and don’t know where to turn for help. You could be the person facing the unknown or you could be a parent, relative, friend, sibling, child or a caregiver that wants to help but doesn’t know how to either?  Sometimes the odds are totally against us, and it does not appear there is much hope. I want you to know, until the game is over and there are no outs left, there is hope. Find within yourself the courage and determination to never allow yourself to quit. You will be tested to give up but face each hour and each day with your strong will and determination to keep moving forward. Know that you are not alone, but there are people that care about you and are pulling for you.  Let Hope In is the story of my journey facing pancreatic cancer. There were a lot of unknowns at the start. It was not easy and there were tough days. Somedays, I just wanted to give up. But I couldn’t. Hope was the driving force that let me take one step at a time while reminding me to forget the odds. I learned to be patient along the roller coaster ride of emotions, and those unknown twists and turns around each corner.   We all have the choice of how we face our challenges and adversity in our lives. I want to encourage you to not give up no matter how dark and stormy the clouds are around you. Keep hope and positive thoughts in your life. There is a saying I really enjoy reading each day. It says, 'One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day'. Believe that one day that shining light will penetrate the darkness and turn the sky bright again.
