Ce travail est le fruit d’une recherche menée dans la communauté rurale de Sítio Barra do Japi, dans la municipalité de Japi-RN. Il montre, étape par étape, les mathématiques nécessaires à la construction d’une citerne à dalle de ciment. Cependant, l’objectif était de rassembler les concepts mathématiques impliqués dans la réalisation de ce travail. L’objectif est que les professeurs de mathématiques de la communauté puissent intégrer leurs cours à la réalité quotidienne de ces personnes, rapprochant ainsi l’école de la vie quotidienne des habitants de la communauté.
