Ce travail traite des transformations de la culture Brasa (Balanta) à l’époque contemporaine à travers la description ethnographique de trois de leurs danses, à savoir : Kussunde, Kanta Po et Broska. L’objectif principal est d’analyser l’impact de ces danses face à un scénario marqué par des transformations socioculturelles constantes qui peuvent contribuer à modifier les caractéristiques originales de ces manifestations. La méthodologie utilisée a consisté en une recherche ethnographique, descriptive et exploratoire. Les principaux résultats obtenus dans cette étude montrent, par exemple, les transformations récentes dans les vêtements, les instruments de musique et les objets utilisés par les participants. En outre, la danse Broska a été commercialisée, car les musiciens chantent pour rendre hommage à des personnes importantes de la société avec l’intention de recevoir quelque chose en retour, tandis que dans les danses Kussunde et Kanta Po, il y a eu peu d’investissement dans leur performance. L’objectif est de contribuer à combler les lacunes ethnographiques dans l’histoire et l’identité du peuple Brasa.
